Designed by Aimee Scholz, Anthony Conley, and Katie Olson, the Neopets Tarot deck is a collaborative effort based largely on a traditional Rider-Waite tarot set, with many overlapping themes and visuals. The illustrated guidebook has an explanation and synopsis of each card, as well as a few primers on common reading spreads and methods, as well as high-end foiling and premium card finishes for a card set delightful to hold and touch. I was in no way prepared for how high-quality this deck is. I ordered it because I was sad about my favorite deck being damaged in a water accident. It came yesterday and I was STUNNED by how nice it is. The box is lovely and the book it comes with is super nice! It’s not like a little pamphlet like most decks do it’s actually a little bound book with great full details for reading, some traditional spreads, all the cards have the right tarot imagery, and the book even tells you the neopets lore behind each card (which is good because I’ve definitely missed some plots), and by god it calls on some of the OLD neopets lore too like the Altador plot, Hannah the explorer’s adventures, even a couple characters from the ps2 games. And all the cards have images! I would have expected they’d do pip cards for the minor arcana but no they went the full mile! I think all of the faeries get their own card! Even the grey faerie who I don’t think they’ve even acknowledged in YEARS! The art is beautiful and detailed and the cards themselves are GORGEOUS with the gold trim and lettering. This deck means so much to me and I love it immensely. I would recommend this for anyone who has even a passing like of tarot or neopets.
